There are people in our lives that affect us so deeply we can’t imagine ourselves without their influence. They help to shape us and influence our identity.
This saddle belonged to this sweet baby girl’s grandpa. He was in a car accident a couple years ago and passed before his son got married and welcomed his beautiful daughter into the world. When they brought this gorgeous saddle in to use for a photograph I was touched and humbled to create this image for their family. A piece of him in this moment and such a peaceful photograph.
I hope everyone that sees it loves it as much as I do. Photos have a wonderful way of bringing back memories and evoking emotion. What a precious way to honor the memory of someone you love.
Newborn photos are my favorite because they capture such a fleeting moment. They change so much even in the first couple weeks. It’s such a treat to be able to remember exactly what they looked like and, in the case of this photo, have an object you can see them grow with. Eventually it will seem crazy that she was ever small enough to curl up on the seat like that. I just love it.
